Net zero is going to happen, and much quicker than most people expect.

Spoken to various people who have recently been in meetings with BP. All shocked by how seriously BP are taking net zero.

I think the last 4 months have shown it won't. And no-one has any spare money to pay for it now. Additionally, notice how much more plastic we are using to 6 months ago?

Unless you are saying you know of technological solutions that will deliver it?

I think Trump will win a second term in November

It's a very distinct possibility but Trump is his own worst enemy.

If you're not getting pissed, going to bike races is actually not that amazing and it's much better watching on TV.

Theresa May was a better PM than given credit for.

Gluten free bread, according to the OH.

    What about it?
  • That Les Misérables would be much better as a musical, rather than trying to be an opera.

The book, along with so called other French literature, is appallingly boring.
    Not a Giro Hero!
  • And speaking of books which need to be ignored include: Ward and Peace, all Tolkien fantasy rubbish and whilst we are discussing crap, also James Joyce, the master of the Emperor's new literature. (Please note the length of my sentence was a nod to the old feckwit himself.)

I think you might need to show your workings for that.

Are you off to buy a lottery ticket now? 😁 Good to finally hear a Chancellor talking about insulating buildings.

Many people who took part in the Thursday night clapping were virtue signalling hypocrites who generally didn't follow the lockdown rules whilst a lot of others were pressured into taking part by social media bullies.

In reply to twotoebenny, why. My suggestion was gluten free bread. The manufacturers say it's great, the people who eat it including my OH would disagree. It's like eating sawdust on a good day.

Ok that makes sense. Most people's I know i.e. Popular opinion is that it's crap, i tend to agree. Ive found a loaf that work s for me but would much rather eat "normal" bread.

Gas prices are crazily, and unsustainably low at the moment, but assuming that is temporary and prices go back to normal, wind and solar are probably the cheapest way to generate electricity. Yes storage needs some work.

Otherwise, hydrogen is coming, and coming quickly.

Call it my hobby horse, but the Committee on Climate Change has a decent amount of power. It's why I found one Extinction Rebellion's two demands somewhat pointless.

So is Biden. The more exposure Biden gets the worse he will look.

It's probably as simple as she was a remainer and hence she was better than someone who is leaving rather than trying to make it look like leaving

It won't happen if it has a negative economic effect on us.

Additionally, China are undoing any carbon savings the west are making with their over reliance on coal fire power stations and they don't seem to be slowing the building of them.

Pancakes and waffles are deserts not breakfast food. I do like their bacon though.

I'd go as far as taking off the last part of the sentence...

But maybe saying can be, rather than is.
