As regards Portugal, we really enjoy Funchal, Madeira.
    Loads of good food.
    Accept that YMMV though.

Wedding speeches are too long and incredibly boring.

When I got married I stood up and said:

'Today, Vicky has left me speechless' and sat down.

    Job done.

Hope Vicky was your new wife and not one of the bridesmaids.

99.9% of movies are utter rubbish and a waste of valuable time. Especially all this fiction stuff with elves n sh1t! The current crop of James Bond films, utter drivel which get shown on TV every other week.

French food is inferior to a lot of other countries: Portugal, Italy, Vietnam, Korea, and many more.

V surprised you put Portugal in there. Was deeply unimpressed when I was there.
I'm surprised that is an unpopular view, but it is the thread for that.

Some more: Mexico, Morocco, Japan, Thailand. Tempted to include Turkey and China as well.

France does beat some countries though, and is less overrated than Argentina. I think Argentina and Pakistan have been the most disappointing food experiences for me.

I think it is now it's had some work on it and annoying quirks sorted out. But good observation.

I think it needs to be believable that someone would hold the 'unpopular opinion'.

Apparently I hold the unpopular opinion that Daniel Craig is a better Bond than Sean Connery.
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.

That Les Misérables would be much better as a musical, rather than trying to be an opera.

It's the lack of humour for me which Roger Moore had, after all we know the plots and swagger are are all a load of b0ll0cks anyway.

Meh, I'm just getting old. I probably would have loved it in my teens:)

Allegedly your favourite Bond is the one you grew up with as an @12 year old.
Moore in your case? I am definitely an outlier. 😉
I feel sorry for those 12 year olds with T.Dalton. 🤣

That the BBC's diversity / inclusivity agenda is not so good for the consumer.

I give you R2 examples: Zoe Ball, 👎. Sara Cox 👍. But then again, Ken Bruce 👍, Steve Wright 👎. Maybe presenters getting hired should be based on talent?

Depends on my mood, but mystified as to why it's considered a no go.

You mean in the sense that cheese on a burger is fine. Blue cheese on steak is fine. Cheese on macaroni is fine. So why not have it on your fish?

    Fair point.
