LEJOG for beginners - advice please

I walked LEJOG last year but decided now to cycle it, probably next year when I'll be 67. Haven't cycled for 20 years and haven't done a multi-day tour for 40. Will want to travel light-ish, youth hostels/b&bs for preference, thinking 60-70 miles per day on quieter roads. Already decided on a Kona Sutra bike, but I'd welcome advice on anything else - kit, route, diet, preparation etc. Pretend I know nothing - 'cos I don't.
Thanks in advance.

Blimey. Walking it ? How long did that take you ?

There's plenty of sites out with advice.

    https://www.cyclelejog.com/

    http://www.cycle-endtoend.org.uk/

And the questions have been asked on here a few times too.

Good shout on the quieter roads. That's what I'll do when I get round to it.

If you haven't already... and I hope the mods understand.... may I suggest popping over to the Cycling UK forum and asking this question there. They have loads, and I mean loads of threads like this over there where I am sure you will find loads of useful information in addition to the links already provided above.

Good luck with your trip and well done on walking the route... to me that's even more epic than cycling it.

Thanks fenix. I walked it over 2 & a half months, at 17.5 miles a day on trails and footpaths. Awesome experience. A couple of years on, I thought the slightly easier version on wheels would be more appropriate.

    Pah!
I'm in training to complete it on a spacehopper.
Go hard, or go home :D
