Experiences anyone?

Website says no mix of geared and fixed, so what happens when you turn up?

Unless there's a pre-booked session on, the velodrome is free to use for freewheel bikes - just turn up and ride. Fixed wheel bikes are generally only allowed on via specific bookings as mixing freewheel and fixed in the same session is not a good idea.

Having said that, if you wanted to ride a track bike down there and you don't live too far away, then it's probably ok to nip down. If it's quiet/empty there shouldn't be an issue and the park/track management are pretty reasonable people...

Thanks imposter, yeah, got the point about mixing. No longer live near but thought I would go when I am on holiday. Was considering building up a pursuit bike, might look at if I can do it single speed freewheel and braked then. Other use would be Silverstone cycling nights.
