Twitter has now shown that everything we have been saying about them (and their other compatriots) is correct. Big action to follow!

I'm currently thinking that his biggest objective right now is to have the USA fully open and back to normal for 4th July. Whatever the cost. Victory! The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.

Does appear to be his game plan. He is forcing states to relax the restrictions while some of them are posting their highest death and infection figures yet.pblakeney said:I'm currently thinking that his biggest objective right now is to have the USA fully open and back to normal for 4th July. The whole social media attack is going to be very interesting. He is throwing claims out without any evidence bar the voices in his head and has signed another executive order, what this actually means no one actually has a clue theres been no details on whats in it as yet but it's likely along the lines of they must bow to him and be "impartial" (as in bias toward the Trumps and pedal what ever nonsense they decide).

It turns out that both Trump and his press secretary who have been claiming that vote by mail are guarantees of voter fraud... have voted by mail.0

The people who run Twitter are smarter than him. They won't bite. They'll just fact check the odd thing. Then he'll flounce off. Then he'll come back.kingstongraham said:

It's not possible to win this against him, he's absolutely not operating in anything approaching good faith. He claims fact check equals censorship, so will keep pushing.First.Aspect said:

Anger drives his brand, which is why this is getting his attention rather than the 100,000 dead or the 40 million unemployed.0 -

Which is why voter suppression is so important. Combine restrictions on mail-in ballots with reductions in number of polling places in the right districts and the risk that the pandemic will still be ongoing and you have a helpful bump.rick_chasey said:

He's tanking with the over 65s who are the swing voters in key states like Florida.
I know we're all 'once-bitten-twice-shy' with this, but it's like he's doing what he can to lose an election.
Even his strategy to try and get an economic rebound by opening up really early puts his key voters, the over 65s at increased risk.0 -

His drive to re open the economy so quickly is actually lining up for a second wave of Corona Virus cases, if/when that happens the downturn in support he has currently will be nothing to what will come.rick_chasey said:

Also Twitter are playing it very carefully, for obvious reasons, a number of his tweets have technically breached twitters policies but probably out of fear of reprisal they have let it slide till now.
His tweets and Twitters response are now under the microscope. With the likely change in law hes moving the responsibility onto twitter, which is the exact opposite of his "plan" (loose term there is no real plan with him). This likely will backfire as until now they have taken the role of a conduit to broadcast un moderated.
If now they have to start policing user content, he's pretty quickly going to fall foul of the very changes he want's to prevent his supposed restriction of free speech.0 -
Twitter has leverage. He's using their platform more and more for his campaign and it's election season.
If he shuts them down or they censor what he says, where's he going to go to?0 -

Facebook has specifically said that they will not censor political adverts that are untrue. So there's that.
Apart from they then did, when Adriel Hampton announced he was running for governor of California purely to allow him to write lies to test the policy. They fact checked him.0 -

I suspect the republican party is quietly hoping he has a diagnosable illness at some stage in the near future. He's definitely getting more extreme. He'll be going over Prince Phillip's back catalogue over China soon.rick_chasey said:

And he was voted in on the misguided ethnic minority vote. This is why Obama has come out of hibernation and why there have been some "leaks" from the democrat camp. The "Obama says" will be ramped up in the next few months. The latest from Minnesota couldn't be worse for Trump in that sense.
I just wish the democrat nominee didn't look like Kirk Douglas just before his death.0 -

That's a misread, in the sense that Bernie was a bit Corbyn. Had a core support but his politics made him unelectable. He'd be considered moderate here, but large parts of the US regarded him as communist. Seriously, it pretty much gets conflated with "socialist" over there.john80 said:

That's not to say Biden is the answer either, but his best bet is not being Trump.0
