Hopefully finish roughly on time today as I want to fit a ride in before our neighbours deliver pizza and deserts as part of their spread cheer day 😎

    Morning

No WFH so was planning a bike ride, but it's cold and didn't get to sleep until late so it's been postponed. Might go out later.

Bush needs trimming so I could always do that instead when it warms up a bit.

Morning, nippy out today is my Friday now as work have told us we have to all take a portion of our holiday so I now have two weeks an a couple days off using the bank holidays as well to help.

Anyway lovely coffee made, and arguments with some Germans at 10 to liven the day up.

Question for you guys, workshop garage conversion is slowly coming to fruition, quote done but the builder seems to think he can get it done next week, during lockdown? OK its a days work but would we fall foul of the current lockdown restrictions?
I have police going past mine all day due to being on the edge of a popular woodland area.

Pretty sure that's OK Step - construction work still allowed IIRC, so as long as you stay 2m from them when you're giving them cups of PG Tips you should be fine.

Another day in the Den running the evil empire remotely. More dog shaving later on as we move onto elder hound after a successful shearing effort on junior hound. It also gives Stropteen practice for when she does my hair.

I'd say it's fine as long as you do social distancing. Assume you're both contagious and work something out.
Is it just one builder, or a builder and his mate? They'd need to take precautions too but if they can do it safely then can't see a problem.

Our overlords told us that construction workers are key workers, so it shouldn't be a problem with the police provided everyone's 2m apart.

Well we have a carpet fitter doing the hall stairs and landing at the moment so I guess a garage would be fine.

Once he's left I'm off out for a ride.

Morning wasted on nothing in particular.

Headed off after lunch for a ride, stopped at a local beach to enjoy the serenity.

It's a 29'er, "TE - Team Elite" model, aluminium frame. I've put a Specialised Carve carbon fork in it I had laying about in a box.

Its him an his son doing it so, they live together so thats that piece of the puzzle solved. I've told him give me a few days to de crap the area an he can crack on. Then sparky in for power an lights then I can put in the stud partition internal door ceiling and insulation. Not much to do!

Going to cycle into work for old times sake. Well, that and to pick up a laptop and get it couriered to a new VAT minion of a minion. Short ugly way in, then back the scenic route I think.

Dropped truck off to get a broken exhaust bracket replaced. Tough ride back: the wind is awkward, strong side gusts causing some wobbles but tougher was that I came across a white cat lying in the middle of a sideroad, been hit by a vehicle, still alive just but gore etc. Needed a swift dispatch. Bike wheels not suitable for the task. Passed it on to a bloke in the council roads depot adjacent, you'll need a shovel fella. Sad start to the day.

    That is sad :(

Busy start to the day including dealing with idiots and shirkers, time for lunch soon I reckon so I have energy to kick more arrises this afternoon.

Ning y'all. Glad no one on here has copped it yet. how are they doing the garage?shallow trench across the threshold and drop a pair of concrete lintles in to spread the load should do it. Board up with stud work and a sheet or two of 22mm ply then nail on some hardy board.
Just had first meeting of the day on teams. Actually got the mic and headphones to work for a change. Daughters new phone finally arrived so that will keep her quite for ten minutes.
Bought some "London-Gin" from waitrose, not made in london....

    Another meh day of weather.

Went out for a ride this afternoon for a couple hours, some brief showery stuff, a chilly breeze, but still a nice ride.

One of my favourites for dinner this evening, roasted pork cutlets with spicy chorizo, cannellini beans, olives, red onion and thyme in sherry vinegar.

    And shiraz, obvs.

No one likes to see a deadish cat 'loon. Hopefully the council guy made it swift.

Rode in and back as advertised. Stack of post on my desk, which I felt I should open.

I think I am being encouraged to take tomorrow morning off to build raised beds.

Boss made an unscheduled call, so I wondered what it might be about...turned out it was to tell me what my bonus was. Phew :)
