New rear wheel, one side threaded the other not, do I need an adapter?

Got a new rear wheel, one side of the axle(?) is smooth as expected. Both of the ends of the axle was like this on my previous wheel. But the other one is threaded. It fits seeing as the diameter is the same and the bike frame has open dropouts, but is it ok to use it? Or do I need an adapter or something?

    It's fine. The axle will be threaded along its length, and the cones/nuts will thread on. I'm actually more surprised to see that the other end isn't threaded.

    Neither side was threaded on the old wheel, and the frame itself is smooth (where it rests), hence my concern. But ok, thank you :)

    You need a quick release skewer and then just fit the wheel

    The threads will be for the lock nuts to the cup n cone bearings the hub uses.
