Marin Rift Zone 2

Vitus Mythique 29 VR (I would add dropper post)

Budget $2K. I think I have it narrowed down to these two. Just getting back into the sport after a 12-year hiatus. 49 years old, 6'2", 190 lbs, plan to go with an XL. Riding the Southeast, mostly Atlanta area/North Georgia trails.

Opinions/Pros & Cons greatly appreciated!

    This is a UK centric forum, so I doubt anyone knows what the trails are like so a description would help.

    Of the two I'd go with the Marin for the better drivetrain, Fork could do with a slightly better compression damper (just add damper, no need for a new fork) than the basic RL is the main weakness I see. Likewise the shock but less so.
    Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.
