Rear wheel repair or replace

Hi everyone I am new to this mountain biking hobbie and need a bit of advice, my son has persuaded me to go out on rides so I bought a secondhand carrera crossfire 2 that may need a real wheel as it’s buckled, is it easy enough to repair wheel or should I just replace also which wheel would be suitable, I am pretty handy with a tool kit so that should help , also what spoke key would be best to invest in if I can repair, any help would be much appreciated thanks

Easy, take it to a bike shop or to someone with wheel building experiance.

I don't have the skills to unwarp a wheel by adjusting the spoke tension, but that may be all it takes. Your local bike shop will be able to do this. Or tell you that its a write-off.

Perhaps a video showing the buckle would help us.

The Crossfire came in a 26" and a 27.5 iteration, so the wheel size depends on the current one!
Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.
