Cycling to work earlier than usual, don't usually start till after the clock change. Small consolations....

Driving to work on the dual carriageway there seems to be just as much traffic as normal, driving as badly as normal. On the way home it still feels like there is as much traffic but there's no queuing so there isn't.
There's less traffic on the side roads although everyone's driving a lot faster but generally giving more space when passing because the road is empty.

With all of this craziness wife pulled forward her birthday meal last night, which means her birthday will last 3 weeks rather than the usual 20 -

Morning, working remotely being silly sat the dog in front of the laptop for the entire video call I've just had better view than my ugly mug anyway.
Pedal later looks a bit dull out, can't tell if it's quiet out as the road is always quiet! More people out walking there hounds this morning though.0 -
Working at home. Weirdly feel obliged to do more than usual. I've only ever "worked" from home before, mainly involving napping on the sofa after a long bike ride.
Was at Waitrose at 7:55 for 8:00 opening. Long queue of middle class types like me, all panic buying harissa paste, preserved lemons, veal stock, foie gras and asafoetida. Shelves full of bog roll, pasta, rice and tinned gruel - all going largely ignored. You'll all be pleased to know that I got a big bag of flat leaf parsley, some vermouth rosso, saffron strands, posh olive oil and fresh ginger. Bought my allowance of bog roll and popped it in the food bank collection box.2 -

Morning.
Had a few of my team help other teams with the digital world of WFH so they can move out. I get to stay to the bitter end of Friday. Uni has this belief it will all return to normal by 14 April.
2 hours on the phone with Expedia but three hotels/trips now refunded with March and April looking very dull suddenly.
M&S food by ours looks normal whenever I pop in, the Tesco beside it, less so.
May go buy some wine at lunch0 -

I went to the Waitrose in Raynes Park to get stuff for the old dear last night H³, they had no Maris Pipers. Managed to get most of what she wanted though.
Still planning on going to the pub tonight. If we are going to go into enforced lockdown at some point I'm not going to start voluntarily to make it seem even longer. Sensible precautions will be taken, but I'm still trying to enjoy life as best I can.

The state of the place by the time I left would suggest that there won't be too much left by this evening. i noticed that isopropyl alcohol is starting to be in short supply, i already had quite a bit, but was researching for others i was putting this together for...
if you are finding it hard to get hand sanitising liquid, or would like some to give to the vulnerable, the world health org recipe to make around a litre of your own is...
750 isopropyl alcohol - amazon, ebay, engineering/lab supplies etc.
40 hydrogen peroxide 3% solution - supermarket/pharmacy, it's used as a mouthwash
15 glycerol or glycerin - supermarket/pharmacy
190 water (boil it and allow to cool before adding)
...these are pre-mix volumes in ml, do not start with a one litre measuring flask and finish by topping up with water as the way the molecules fit together means you'll have added too much water
the hydrogen peroxide and glycerol are not essential to its performance, you can just do a 750ml ips + 250ml water mix
ipa is flammable, no flames/sparksmy bike - faster than god's and twice as shiny1 -
