Different chainrings in different speeds. Any different really between them?

Just wondering. I am planning to fit some chainrings which say 9s into 105 5700 cranks to be used in a 11s system.

Is there any different in the rings themselves between different speeds?

    They might be too thick/ deep for an 11 speed chain.

    It should work but shifting under load maybe hit and miss. Since you shouldn't shift under load anyway....
