Chain length from 10 speed to 11 speed

Hi, I'm moving from a 10 speed Shimano groupset to an 11 speed.
Generally whenever I've swapped the chain out in the past I've just counted the links of the old chain and prepared the new chain with the same amount of links. This has always worked out fine.
Now I'm installing an 11 speed groupset, will this method still work or will I have to go down another route?

I have the 11 speed chain ready...The top end and low end of both gear sets are the same ratios as the 10 speed I had originally.

    If the ratios are the same then the chain length will be the same, but only if it was correctly sized in the first place. This is probably a good opportunity to verify this. You can find Shimano's instructions for chain length here: https://si.shimano.com/pdfs/dm/DM-CN0001-05-ENG.pdf

    Parktool website tells you how to size a chain as well.

    Sheldon Brown method. Wrap new chain around largest sprocket and big ring then pull tight. Where the ends of the chain come together back off one full ink and break the chain there.
