Rear disc brake cable routing help!
I’m building a new frame that is specced for both rim & disc brakes and have decided on using disc. The frame however has the rear disc mount on the chain stay, has no cable fix points and no obvious cable routing from that position. To use the existing rim brake cable fix points (underside of top tube along and down the rear triangle) the only way I can see is to form a big loop in the cable from the forward pointing cable direction out of the calliper, back under, back round and up to the fix point. That would leave a large cable loop which is bound to snag and looks weird too! Any other suggestions to remedy this issue will be gratefully received, thanks in advance!

It’s an Aprire Inverno AR and no, it’s external routing.0

I searched around a bit to find some photos of the frame, and on Aprire's own page for that bike you can just about see a cable guide on top of the chainstay, and a few more underneath the downtube. There are also some reviews with better photos showing how the cable is zip-tied to them. Does your frame have those?0

No unfortunately the only guides on the frame are for rim brake routing.0

Whilst I have the AR frame it’s configured/designed differently from the one in the link. I’m thinking that zip tying on the chain stay is manageable but zip tying up the down tube is going to look unsightly.0

I guess all disc callipers feed the cable forward, one feeding and pulling from the rear would be ideal but then so would finding a unicorn 😉0

No need for zip ties on the downtube. There are proprietary clamps you can buy that have a cable guide built in. One example is in the link below

but there are others if you search around. Still going to impinge on the aesthetics of your frame but better that zip ties I reckon.0 -
Thanks for the link. A pal also told me that you can get some adhesive clamps designed for bike cable routing. I’ll see if I can dig them out, they may be more discreet!0
