He obviously has some business accumen with his hotels/golf courses etc but I suspect that he regards the law as an inconvenience and somehow believes he has some amazing genes that he has passed on to his children who have similar gifts for business. Wiki has more on him but he seems to have huge losses as well and the trick is prob to sell/get out when you can. His casinos in Atlantic City stand idle I think. It's more about the brand. i would imagine it's 'interesting' being around him. In a few yrs I'm sure there will be a wealth of stories from people who sat in hi-level meetings with him. His move to Florida is poss a tax 'dodge'. I suspect his daughter is of a similar nature to him. They would sell us all out if they were enriched even more.

There are strong arguments out there that Trump Org is a massive money laundering operation. That requires a different sort of acumen... not least, 'keep it in the family'.

So you’re in the “not thick” camp?

I think he has certain skills, even if they aren't intellectual, and they are in rapid decline. The skills might be primitive and lacking analytical basis, but I don't think that by itself makes him 'thick', whatever that is.

    He is an idiot though.

He's clearly a very stable genius.

There are a few theories out there on the internet that he's suffering from some sort of dementia. They quote videos from a few years ago where he is far more coherent than now and he has now deteriorated by quite a degree.

There are rumours that he is on fentanyl. Probably to be consigned to fake news, but fits the narrative.

The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.

He really doesn't like California, the state have forest fires, so he threatens to pull funding for the putting out of said fires blaming poor forest management.

Most of the fires are in fedaral managed forests or just not forests at all.

Presuming that the impeachment process reaches the Senate vote, Democrats hold 52 seats, therefore, all it takes is a swing of 14 Republicans.

I can imagine if we see further evidence of wrong doing by the president it could be doable as republicans attempt to distance themselves from this and attempt to preserve their own seats.

I can't see there being any swings from the Republicans as it stands.

He won't get impeached. It won't get that far.

True - he will probably resign before being removed. The ongoing wikileaks investigation also has the potential to show that he lied to Mueller..

If it's that or impeachment? I expect a deal to be done behind the scenes - I'm not sure the establishment wants an impeachment, they just want him gone.

The Roger Stone trial has just already shown that, I believe.

I don't think he'll resign. What will result in him going is when it becomes clear how often he did the same with other governments.

Trump will not want to be 'fired' (ie impeached & removed). My money will be on him looking for a more face-saving exit..

I have decided to resignate as The President as I'm told that I've set the bar too high and whoever takes over from me cannot possibly live up to the bigly expectations. Am going to show God how to MAKE HEAVEN GREAT AGAIN!

If he isn't impeached I would suspect some behind the scenes deal as mentioned which could result in him standing down for some made up reason. While there's fair amount of voters that still believe in him so to speak. Would the Republicans want to run a "tarnish" candidate even if he is already in office?
Seems the longer he is in the more cracks are appearing.
  • If it was a secret ballot in the senate, do you think he'd survive it?

Wouldn't he be at risk of prosecution for all sorts if he resigns though?

Apparently there are indictments under seal, ready to be opened as soon as he leaves office. But that's inevitable anyway, regardless of if he goes now or stays another 4 years..

  • He is going no where. He'll lie and balls it out as usual. Even if he does get impeached I can see him refusing to go. He will declare a national emergency before that ever happens and assume special powers, like spiderman...

The latest: a witness having been intimidated (apparently*).
The 'Mericans don't like intimidation of witnesses.

*Though why I added 'apparently', I don't know. It's not as if Trump would potentially sue me.

    What a tool.

I guess we're finding out who the real tools are.
