Convert SRAM Gripshifters to Triggers 2 x 7

I want to remove SRAM gripshifters on a kids Spec. Hotrock, and replace with trigger shifters (rear mech is SRAM). The cassette is shimano 7 speed and the front has 2 chainrings.
I found the SRAM X3 front shifter, problem is I can't seem to find a SRAM front trigger shifter for 2x.
The SRAM X3 set seems to come in 3x7.

Can anyone advise ?

Just use the 3x and forget the third click, the front mech will be limited by the stop screws.

    Or fit a 3-ring crank?
Or leave the gripshift for the FD, since this doesn't get as much use? Yes, it will look odd and I would never do it, but just offering some options.
