Are you not plagued by greenfly in the summer? My first car was a Renault 5 in a sickly yellow, and that was a magnet for all manner of winged insects

In France this summer, whilst cycling to Paris, we discovered that any fluorescent yellow was a midge magnet. One poor guy looked like Pig Pen from Charlie Brown.

Its superb. But I could fit my legs in the arms. Back it goes.

I don't get this. The fabric is down to Gore. The cut sounds terrible, so what about it is "superb"?

The fabric. It's a proper game changer, as everyone says. The torso, shoulder fit is excellent. But they've messed up the arms in my view. Parachute style.

The price would otherwise be excellent compared to the Gore. I'll try the Gore instead.

Is it a lot cheaper? Hadn't really picked up on that. Not sure what sizing I would go for with one of these. Would normally go race fit, but then it could be useful to size up so you could just use it over a normal winter jacket. I think I would probably need two, one for warmish weather and one for deep winter.
  • 20 quid cheaper at respective rrp. My issue is that the L deffo wont fit. So no opportunity to see if the arms would be tighter. In the stick pics, but not the road.cc review, the arms loom more race fit. Maybe it's an xl issue?

Been after a new long sleeved jersey so giving one of these a try in the purple colour.

This was sent back. Jersey seems nice enough though the purple colour wasn't as bright as I'd hoped. Might have exchanged for the orange but it was immediately apparent upon trying on that the sleeves were going to be too short.

Ordered one of these base layers today in anticipation of colder times ahead. Knowing Prendas it will be delivered first thing tomorrow...

I would have thought you'd get more success with the Castelli Idro or 7mesh oro.

From what I have read, the 7mesh version is even more so, think I would need an xs.

There were some decent offers in the earlier part of this year, but now they seem to all be £250 across the board, which is too much for me.

Cycle to work voucher spent. I requested £675 to get the Boardman ADV 8.8 with 10% BC discount.

As it happens my local Halfords had an ADV 8.8 in my size in the clearance section reduced to £600, and they agreed to still give me the BC discount. So I needed to get some accessories to meet the value of the voucher.

    Left the store with

    Boardman ADV 8.8 (rrp £750)

    Bike Hut commuter mudguards (£20)
Bike Hut Mini track pump (£18)
    2x Elite bottle cages (£16.)
Bike Hut 1500 lumen front light (£50)
Bike Hut 50 lumen rear light (£20)
Bike Hut SPD/Flat combo pedals (£32)

Rrp of £896, I'll pay about £460 of take home pay on it.

The only problem is the track pump won't go under a bottle cage, so I have to lose a cage on the bike. As its a commuter it shouldn't be an issue as I tend to only use one cage to carry my tool and spares bottle.

I have one of these on order:

    TranzX anti-shock stem 80mm

To further reduce the vibration and bumps to my hands.

I really like the purple dhb Merino Jersey - I have the long sleeve. It is dark, but I tend to use a high viz filet in low light. I have the short sleeve merino in orange.

Both have a smooth inside that I don't associate with merino, but they are really nice to wear, and warm. I wore the LS for Parkrun yesterday (cold and windy) and was regretting it halfway round as it was too warm even as a single layer.

A couple of bits from EBay for the gravel bike. Sram Apex 1x chainset with 40t (from the Wiggle ebay outlet), and new bars with a more pronounced flare, and which should mean the levers don't interfere so much when the loaded bar bag is attached. Not exactly sure why given I'm almost certain to buy a new gravel bike between now and the January sales which will probably have both items fitted as OE, but a bargain is a bargain in the meantime B)

R7000 cassettes can be picked up for under £30, but if you want an itboffin aged leg friendly 11-32 then you're looking at £31.19.
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.

Splurged my Cycle2work voucher at Cycle Republic - no LBS was really able to help out at an acceptable price with the voucher, so they'll get some cold hard cash for servicing the bike and a second hand wheel truing stand instead.
So, from CR: - Fly12 CE.
    - Nightvision 4 Jersey
    - Kryponite D-lock to keep at work
    - Overboard dry bag to keep in my panniers to prevent me killing yet another laptop
Not what I wanted to spend my £250 cycle 2 work voucher on, but the driving around me this morning was f'ing appalling.

Rather than faff about trying to find the right BCD chainring for priaxis stuff, just bought a 4700 double 50/34t chainset.
Which having double checked, is likely to need a new chain, as the bike is meant to be 48/32T.
