Geometry

I am in between sizes for a giant revolt and cannot find anywhere to try one out for size. It’s a rare beast!

So looking at geometry comparing it to my 56 CAADX which is a great fit - what’s the most important measurements to look at? Different bikes I know but don’t want to order the wrong size.

I am 6ft with 31.5 inch inseam. Probably M/L according to giant. But not sure. Is it best to go smaller or larger?

I had a large defy but shortened the stem and it was fine

Thx

Popcorn may be required for this one.
  • ML has the same reach as your CAADX. Stack is 13mm taller. Remove a spacer or so on the ML.

I was in the same position when I bought my Diverge. In the end I got the smaller bike which has worked out well for me. It is easier to make a bike that is a little small fit but very hard to make one that is too large fit. Also remember the size guides are for average people and in my case my body is proportionally a bit longer than my legs , also flexibility can play a part in sizing.

Reach and stack are useful measurements for comparing bikes, just be careful to account for the spacers, stem and possibly bar rise in any comparison. If you google stem calculator it gives a useful tool for seeing how different stem lengths, angles and spacers affect the riding position.

I used this and the m/l revolt matches the 56 CAADX so m/l it is :D:D:D
