Anyone done this section?

Seems to include a pretty un-rideable (road), section of ~2km from what I can gather from internet searches?

Just wondered if anyone had a first-hand experience of this lesser known road thru Albanne, Albannette...

  • You've probably seen this is from 2015, so may be out of date, but I suspect not. His site is a treasure trove of road, gravel and path routes in the alps.

  • Yeah, that's the site that led me to post..... the post lol.

Wondered if that section had gotten any worse since then. It looks like a cracking little alternative route, but walking that section puts me off...
  • Decided not to try the Albanne "off piste", route to Galibier. Took the regular Telegraph/ Valloire route instead.

We could see the aforementioned route looking over whilst going up/ coming down the Telegraph though. Looked pretty gnarly and certainly not something I'd contemplate on the road bike (also looked like rockfall would be a hazard)
