Hi,

I have just bought a Kona Cinder Cone 1999 model and the front forks/suspension needs replacing.

I need some advice as to the best low cost option please.

Thanks in advance

Are they the original forks? According to Google they were Marzocchi Bomber Z-5, 2.75 inch travel?

Headset is a 1 1/8inch threadless Tioga TG?

Can you get the forks serviced or are they beyond help?

  • I’ve been told they are beyond repair.
  • Okay - so you'll need a set of 26" 1 1/8th straight steerer forks.

I know they are meant to be 2.75 inch travel but that's only 70mm. Is that right?

You'll struggle to find anything brand new.

You can find some on eBay, Facebook Marketplace, Gumtree of try some MTB Facebook Groups.

If you're not in it, have a look at this:
