I always find this "I'm not speaking to you/him/her" a bit strange.
When my missus gives me the silent treatment, how much does she think I'm suffering?

Slow start as we had a late night. Hound has enjoyed an extended walk.

Should have picked up my new bike today but current wife isn’t happy, perhaps should have mentioned it to her earlier :)

Out overnight at friends tonight near alsager

Morning ride done. Admittedly it was only to the shops as there was nothing for breakfast.
Someone's still in bed so going to start making a racket.

Good lie in, now have a long-ish list of stuff to do. Luckily it is mainly my stuff and also a good excuse to drive The Panzer.

    Evening folks,
Went for a walk in big town earlier, rather busy up there. About to go to a 50th birthday bash. Must try not to drink too much as I’m doing an audax thingy tomorrow.
Think I saw Hoppies house from the train, doesn’t seem to have fallen down yet but hard to be sure at that distance.

Lazy day, been well windy here plus some rain in t'afternoon, so decided to have a nap. Am I getting old? I did NOT watch daytime tv, well apart from a bit of La Vuelta, which ain't the same thing. Best bike fettled, all prepped for decent ride tomorrow. I will try not to fall off this time. Must not have too many glasses of Malbec...

It hasn't fallen down just yet. However, met the builder this morning. We knew the extension had been built badly, but they've been able to take it down with their hands. The mortar is basically just sand. The walls hadn't been tied in to the house, so they just wobble. Luckily I think the builders had budgeted for it as they are taking it down and rebuilding it so that it will support the new pitched roof. No additional charge. We do need an extra steel so that the 1st floor bathroom doesn't turn into the ground floor bathroom when they remove the wall we want them to.

V68, I've looked for a confirmation from the audax people. However, it seems I didn't put my money where my mouth was, and didn't book a place. I could have got a late one as it's not full, but Mrs H3 stared at me in that particular way which meant no....have fun, and sorry for being a let down.

    Lucky you had a surveyor.

Disgraceful let down on the audax. Tutting out loud.

It was a repossession, been in there 10 years, did the loft first, been saving to do this full downstairs & 1st floor refurb with new kitchen and new garden design/new garden office.

Quite right at the tutting. I think it's a "pub run" with someone else though. I hope so, otherwise I deserve to be flogged in public, as I definitely said yes.

3 months in a flat type of big job.

The contractor is doing the tiling and flooring, however, they don't decorate. There's a shitload of painting needs doing, and an entire staircase with 100 years of paint layers which needs stripping and repainting.

I have an under stairs cupboard as accommodation, and I can pay in either vietnamese dong, or hookers and blow.

Depends on whether you're VAT registered I suppose. The decorating is definitely a taxable supply. I wouldn't want to do anything illegal. :)

Technically they're VATable but I'm guessing most people would pay cash and skip the VAT. Tut tut :)

Just got back from the party, I offered to drive as I have to be up relatively early. No decent beer so quite easy not to drink and stocked up on brownie points.
No problem about tomorrow Hopper, it’s noy like Jim ducked out because his wife booked a holiday or anything. Anyway, riding through London is a bit of a busman’s holiday for you. It’s a bit of a novelty for me.

Surely the 'value added' is subjective?

Me pedalled me. Then I decided that the shed sawdust remnants were ending up in the car... so I got the pressure washer out... wtf did I do that for?

    Rain/sun, rain/sun all day.

Thanks for the heads up SB.

I was referring to the Hookers participle.

I remember Yossie. Better than the current crop.

You mean no decent BJ = 17.5% discount?

Something like that. However, I would feel robbed of 2.5% Mr Tax bloke.

Sorry, should be 16.67% (100/120). I'll use a calculator next time.

I didn't know the government reduced the VAT rate from 20%.
