WFH then shut laptop down and jump on the bike and meet the family in south Shropshire, where hopefully they have set the tent up and we can go straight into the town and visit the pubs :)

    Morning
    Park and pedal this morning.
Hopefully going to disgrace myself at the last TT of the season later, but left my lights at home so need to do an annoying detour on the way back.

Morning folks. About to head for breakfast then a hard day at the pool beckons. I'm just summoning up the willpower...

Isn't the detour to yours is longer than the detour to mine?
Would your lights make me go faster though?

Mines just a bit further along on the warm up route :)
  • Morning all, back in work after 10 days off. Great. Not.

Plan to listen to TMS and possible haircut after work time permitting. Life in the fast lane.

Morning, was sunny its now grey, summer is indeed faulty. Nabbed a bottle of green gas last night turns out the pistol does work so purged the gas an stripped for legals reasons.

Planning lots of nothing this weekend bar some pedal based action. New flooring mostly down in the garage to, much nicer under foot so just need to crack on an finish it in there now.

Is TT now a cool thing to do?

Couple of the clubbies have taken to some semi off road activities, this so called gravel riding. A full enduro bike should be suitable for this, or do I need to make some frankenbike using a hardtail MTB an dropped bars...

It's not quite a generator run soundsystem in a field a la 1993. More like massive tents on Clapham Common. It'll be funny. Not been ravey davey since forever.

    Junglistical fever.

Or I'll just head home early if it's too noisy.

Seems the best bet, must have suitably stupid gearing, I think mines 32t with 11-42t back, slap some SPD's an no one will know the difference.

Do I need a tie for TT now?

keep me updated - I'm doing it on a Ridgeback Storm - if it all works it'll get powdercoated a nice colour.

they are hefty but handle really well (road bike geo) and can take a good hammering.

any ideas on non disc brakes to work with brifters?

Will depend on the brifters, I think I have some Tektro things lurking. If not just some cheapy avids. Doubt i'll stretch to some TRP's unless any appear magically cheap.
I'll probably use some SRAM ones they have a 1:1 pull ratio which helps.

are you going 1x? I'm tempted to save spondoolies. I have a brand new 105 mech that I bought on impulse, some Ultegra cranks, just need to sort brakes. Sora Shifter?

Get cranks pwder coated black to match the mech, no one will notice.

Thinking a nice pastel colour, tan walls.....

Busy day of work grief interrupted occasionally by coffee and fried food, finished with beer and pizza.
Step, how about a parabox set up. Just needs about 20mm under the stem.

Yeah certainly 1X, I have a 11-40 cassette lurking in a box and a GX mech, though from memory the shifting was tough on the bigger cogs. probably just cable shapes.
Tyres, again use whats about, I have a Maxxis Crossmark an some other random tyres. Think I have some Big apples which would be ideal on the road.
An two sets of wheels, ones purple, ergo its cool. Ill go through whats out there tomorrow as I'm doing more work in there tomorrow.

Edit, found a photo of the thing, with the purple wheels, seems to be missing some important parts

    now thats retro.

thinking along the same lines as you - 1x with a 42 front, whatever the biggest cassette will fit on the mech (¿32?)

think it will all be simple tbh.....
