I stumbled upon these and thought yup, cool toy, I'll have one of them.

Then saw the price.

You're having a bubble my son....

I've still got my original Mk2 Ultra Burner 8)
Seems strange that a reproduction would be sold for more than an original, maybe appeals only to the hardcore collectors.

    need piccies now!

i think its the same as when they released the new Choppers a few years ago - people had them when they were young, sold/crashed them, now have some disposable and a mid life crisis, buy another thinking they are cool not realising they are actually shhhit and they look like a nkob riding it.

  • Yeah, why not? Buy one and hang it on the wall.
    Nostalgia is what this is.
Why buy your favourite album on vinyl for £20 when you can download it for free?
Won't make sense to everyone, but not everyone would believe that Raleigh once had about 150% share of the market!
  • well thanks to this thread I have now ordered one! Just need to hide the cost from the mrs which might be hard as we have a joint account!

I used to have a gold ultra burner with araya rims, would be worth a few quid now I bet.

    In the FAQ section:

"How much will the Super Tuff Burner be?

    A. It will be priced at £600.00 with no finance options available."

So if I can't finance it even with money, how do I acquire one legally?
