I have the Supacaz tape on my Tarmac and really like it.

I've tried Lizard Skins are really didn't like it. I prefer the cork to the PU plasticy type. I just buy whatever is on offer/cheapest now, can never really notice the difference.

I have Fabric Knurl on both my bikes, its excellent and best of all it comes with finishing tape that is the same fabric as the tape itself and actually sticks and holds the bar tape in place unlike almost every other manufacturer where it ends up binned and electrical tape used instead.

I’ve used lizzardskinz and they didn’t last too long, I now only use the thin fizik ones and find them surprisingly comfortable and very long wearing. They scrub up well too.

When my current Lizard Skins is knackered I'm planning to try Tortec SuperComfort which looks great.

I'm a big fan of Selle Italia's Smootape Controllo, which is a stupid name, but the tape is good. Lizardskins is the only tape I have ever used which has broken up in use...

Currently have Cannondale as I have Synapse. But looking for something a bit more spongy/grippy. Is cork the way to go? Or those gel inserts?

Cork is only spongy when new, ime - the feeling never lasts long. If you're looking for spongy, then take a look at Smootape Gran Fondo - which has a sort of spongy towelling feel to it.

(I don't work for Selle Italia, btw)

Cinelli do a nice range. Other option would be the gel inserts that go under the tape, I never got on with lizard skins myself.

Glossy Fizik tape. Lasts ages and wipes clean.

Tortec Super Comfort is really good. Much better value than Lizard Skins.

Lizard Skins is great and have used it for years, but have just replaced the tape on both road bikes with Prologo One Touch which is just as good and a grippier feel.

I had supercaz tape on my bike and it looked good but it didn't feel as there was any cushioing to it and now go with cheap £10 Boardman black cork tape.
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.

    +1

The only tape I use now.
Hardwearing, easy to wrap well, uber comfy.
    Massively underated imho.

Cinelli gel bar tape. Run a strip of old bar tap for extra padding.

Lizard skins DSP is very good if you like it tacky. Bontrager gel tape is also another option worth looking at (it's usually pretty well priced).

This might be equivalent, according to Road.cc website reviews, but I haven't trried it.

Still not widely available, but Tredz have it.

Cinelli cork-gel tape is my preferred option.
