    Just repeated on Eurosport.

Not a shock. Came out of nowhere. Won. Never came close to repeating it.

So Froome might wake from his coma to the news that he's won another Grand Tour?

Is this just to get Froome to regain consciousness? Or some sort of holistic healing process?

Stephens made a good point on ES that it would make Froome Britain's first grand tour winner, ahead of Wiggins

Chris Froome is the first person to win a Grand Tour classification while unconscious since Djamoladine Abdoujaparov won the Green Jersey in 1991

Looked highly suspicious at the time.

Until the formal processes have run their course, there wouldn't be.
Probably 2021, but unless he's cleared, he will lose that title.

"The Anti-Doping Tribunal found the retired rider guilty of an anti-doping rule violation (Use of a prohibited substance) based on abnormalities from 2009 and 2011 detected in his Biological Passport* and imposed a three-year period of ineligibility on the rider."
Is that period of ineligibility from now or from the time that the ABP abnormalities occured?

Anyway, the moral victory is Froome's whatever the official sanction is. 7.5 years is a long time to be waiting for a podium ceremony though...

The Wiki report of the race is entertaining. In the race overview, neither Cobo, Froome or Wiggins are mentioned!

For added Ineos trolling, Wout Poels should inherit the Angliru stage win.

Off the back of these two posts I have discovered that Wout Poels' middle names are Lambertus Martinus Henricus..... now that's something!

I really was hoping someone would have dug all the way back for the stage spoiler thread...

Anyway, decent news for Froomey to wake up to...

Gutted for Wiggins, I remember watching him blow up on the final time trial trying to gain too much time on Cobo. If he’d been defending his lead I reckon he’d have beaten Froome.

Riccardo Ricco gets my vote too

    Landis for me.

Wasn’t even up over the final climb and I was rolling my eyes.

Not to forget the team which Cobo finished his career with - Torku Sekerspor - yes "that" team from the tour of Turkey

Now that was one of the best drug busts of all time

Some titbits from the Spanish media (no idea how reliable)

Bio passport anomalies were not quite enough to sanction on their own but retesting old samples with new methods produced a positive

    There's been a case open since 2015

Cobo unlikely to appeal - he works as a milkman and a surf coach.

    Also Mollema's already enjoying his podium: https://twitter.com/BaukeMollema/status ... 8710978560

So since it’s bio passport it’s not a new test for some EPO right?

Just a few more riders being pinged recently so I assumed they have.
