Hi,
I’m doing the above ride on Sunday and I’m just wondering what to put in my saddle bag. The last 100km rides I’ve done I’ve taken a couple of spare tubes, tyre levers, air cartridges and a hex key set but on my Boardman I’ve got tubeless tyres.
What do I take this time??

yes. this is another reason why people wonder about tubeless.

you can pop a tube in but beware of the sealant coming out when you unseat the tyre - sticky and messy.

    Thanks, you learn something everyday.
What’s the score once I get the tyre off? Is sealant going to squirt all over me?

possibily. take tyre off at arms length. its gunky stuff that gets everywhere.

fingers crossed you'll be fine so just, ride, enjoy, smile, laugh at look at whatever takes your fancy

Don't take the tyre off. Carry some tyre worms. And poss a little tube of superglue if you want to feel insured. Check out this article from Malcom Borg on living with tubeless.

I don't carry a spare tube on my tubeless bike, the one I do the long rides on.

I ride tubeless on the main bike. Sealant in the tyre, tyre worms and a spare tube in the pocket for anything that the sealant can't stop. Never had to use any of them yet and I've ridden on gravel and over roads covered in hawthorn hedge clippings.
I ride a bike. Doesn't make me green or a tree hugger. I drive a car too.

Depends if you can successfully unmount the tyre, remove the valve, fit the tube and then refit the tyre without nipping the tube. Not always feasible at the roadside ........

    .

    I follow him on Strava...
half the rides are stories of shredded tyres and unfixable punctures... doesn't sound like "easy living"

The ToC 100km will go very quickly. Big groups, no climb bigger than a curb ..... you'll be round quicker than the air would escape from your tyre.
