    Also please fix the weather its meant to be warming up not getting colder. Us southerners aren't build for this, or rather not dressed correctly for this weather.

    gopping down here - utterly appalling.

    curled up on couch dinking coffee with bambino & hound. have to go and pick up bambina in a bit but loads of time for a bacon sandwich.

    bit of bike tinkering planned and thats it due to weather

    Morning folks,
    Just had a coffee so feeling a smidge more awake than I was a few minutes ago. Working from work again with another early bail to take another family member to a hospital appointment. This time it's the trouble as her ankle still isn't right, they think there is a tear along the length of a tendon that may need surgery. Today is a scan to confirm.
    Being Wednesday I shall be visiting a pub later, Hopalong will probably tag along as he's going a bit stir crazy from so much sitting around.
    Going to be cold again tomorrow morning, winter gloves will have to come out again.

    I have an angle grinder made by Bosch.

    Surfing makes more sense than running.

    I won't tell you what the weather here is today 'cos it's absolutely stunning with hardly a cloud in the sky.
    I did 15 mins on the rollers and no dislocation and i'm still alive.

    Leaving work early to give blood so was thinking of an early evening ride but I'm not sure that 80% blood levels and dead legs will make for a good experience.

    I might drill some wardrobes instead.

    Better day at work than the first two of the week, still busy but nicely under control. I reckon I've earned a drink when I get home anyway. Working from home tomorrow morning as we're getting new patio door and windows put in, the old ones are fubarred. And Stressbag is now starting to spend money on the study refurb. Both projects are needed but easy come, easy go...

    Should be ok if you take it easy, no dirt jumps etc.

    Early bail, but the early train home is stupid busy.
    Planning a pootle once I fix my slow puncture (the one I've had for months). Might pop into the pub on the way.

    lower back is in clip. going to have wine. its now gone from "blimey this hurts" to "right, it now really still hurts but i've had enough and its bloody annoying".

    anyone guess why a mech won't drop into lowest cog although limit screw set all the way in so it should? shifts all the way through perfectly until then. thinking mech or mech hanger fakked.

    yup - cable undone and limit screws set up with the cable not in, loads of adjustment on barrel adjuster before cable clamped - intending to use barrel adjuster to drag mech across : no luck.

    its on a cheapo i'm doing for a mate: just want it all working properly for him.

    Have you set the right limit screw? Ha ha.

    Is your cassette loose?
    Is the ratchet 1 click out? i'e, put put the lever at it's lowest position and put the cable back in place, then count the clicks.

    you may joke :) it a Sunrace 8 speed - you can twiddle the limit screws all you want and it makes absoloutely no difference. 30 turns in in the low, 59 on the high.

    turns out "b" screw was set too high so mech didn't have enough clearance under the 12 to move there....... however no matter how far you turn the "b" in it doesn't move the mech as its so shyyyyyt.

    thing is, he's just starting riding, hasn't got much money and the frameset on this thing is perfect. may have to dig into the big box of bits for him.

    things you do for mates, eh...

    Can you add/remove a link from the chain instead of adjusting the b screw?
    Never had a problem with the b screw setting for going into the smallest cog on the cassette, only the biggest.

    thats a very good point - thank you. shorter chain will cause the mech to run at a tighter angle dragging it down.. hmmmmm. only thing is is that it has a shutty shimano "quick link" and its a 'mare to take on and off.

    i'm going to soak the bugger in WD has hope its seized itself into place. its all basically unused, just the normal story of having sat in a cold garage for years.

    but yup - mechs are dirt cheap. even a second hand sora is better than this piece of junk. i'm going to get him to upgrade to Sora 10 throughout asap - and who would have thought the words "upgrade", "to" and "sora" would ever be used in the same sentence?

    buy each bit month by month.
