we all remember Hayden well - his, fun, his laughter, his smile, his generosity.

we remember that time when we did the road trip to watch Oom Hetts Sloop then onto Nantes - Picard and then back to the Cwnbraen crits. Crazy laughter, crazy driving and that girl from Aberdeen.

I know this time is painful for all but does anyone else have memories of him they would like to share?

Apparently internet access isn't great in ditches by the roadside. That must be the reason why he hasn't posted to let us know he's OK.

    That, or he’s enjoying himself.
Enjoying himself, sleeping in a bin liner, in a ditch by the side of the road. Don’t see it myself but it takes all sorts.
Alternatively, the Travelodge is next door to a Little Chef that’s also the hangout for local hookers and he really is enjoying himself.

I reckon he got distracted by a small wood in the borders, and has been bellowing at a small stand of hazel for 18 hours.

I remember his dog, lovely animal. Slept under the desk.

Either that or he's sacked it all off and has spent the last 24 hours drinking, before Mrs/Ms Hayden drives him down tomorrow.

Do we send flowers or something? I feel like we should pick a spot of road for a memorial for him, nice group of trees, a ditch and a busy road. Maybe spray a bike white an chain it to a tree.

ok, he had funny eyes but he was a good lad. meant well, would always go out of his way to help someone. nothibg was ever too much trouble.

generally he went out of his way to help someone because of his funny eyes, but his heart was in the right place.

I reckon if we haven't heard from him by tomorrow evening that we set up a rescue fund, anything left can be used for his wake if he doesn't return.

Perhaps we could get the detectives from the Maddie McCann hunt on the job, after their less than stunning success.
If he has met a sad demise, I want first dibs on his bike. The rest of you can fight over any tree related equipment.

If he has been kidnapped and a ransom is being demanded... sorry Hayden.

Only by those in the loop.

You know, very, very high level riders, loads of experience, great atmosphere, live bands afterwards, lots of food and beer, utterly wonderful atmosphere with some brilliant racing. Very top end level stuff.

    Weren't you there?

    Oh.

I was at the Cwnbraen crits. I came 3rd, wound up a frankly ridiculous sprint to come through the pack in the last 37 metres from 47th to 3rd. Quite remarkable, even though I say it myself.
