And we're back... it's time to start PTP again!

Given that we missed it entirely last year I propose dropping the LondonSurrey Classic. And I do still wonder about both the Tour de Yorkshire and Tour of Britain being included...

Does anyone care about the World Cup for the Spring Classics? Let me know - I'm happy to save a bit of my time and ditch it if no one is particularly bothered.

Speaking of time... would really appreciate all the help I can get to score PTP through the year. Please volunteer and let me know what you can or can't do, particularly the GTs. It's very simple and I'll can send you a googlesheet template closer to the day.

How to Play

Playing along with PTP is extremely simple - you don't have to sign up or join anything other than the Bikeradar forums. If you're already a member here, that means you're already eligible to play.

A few days before each of the chosen races, a PTP thread will be started in the Pro Race forum. That thread will contain a selection of useful links - start lists, race maps, past winners and so on. All you have to do is consider who you think is likely to win and post their name in that thread. It's that simple. If the race in question is a stage-race, you also get to predict the daily stage winners.

Post your pick in the relevant PTP thread before the cut off. If you change your mind then please post as a new post rather than editing your old post.

As you play, your scores will be added up and the overall season rankings will be updated in this thread.

We may also be running a PTP World Cup for the highest scores in 11 spring classics (marked by a * in the race list). Subject to demand.

Scoring

TdF = Tour de France / G/V = Giro/Vuelta / Reg = Regular season

GC and one-day winners:

TdF | G/V | Reg
1 | 100 | 85 | 50 |
2 | 75 | 65 | 40 |
3 | 60 | 50 | 35 |
4 | 55 | 45 | 30 |
5 | 50 | 40 | 25 |
6 | 45 | 35 | 20 |
7 | 40 | 30 | 15 |
8 | 35 | 26 | 10 |
9 | 30 | 22 | 5 |
10 | 25 | 19 | 2 |
11 | 20 | 16 | |
12 | 15 | 13 | |
13 | 12 | 11 | |
14 | 10 | 9 | |
15 | 8 | 7 | |
16 | 6 | 5 | |
17 | 5 | 4 | |
18 | 4 | 3 | |
19 | 3 | 2 | |
20 | 2 | 1 | |

Stage winners:

TdF | G/V | Reg
1 | 12 | 10 | 6 |
2 | 10 | 8 | 5 |
3 | 8 | 6 | 4 |
4 | 7 | 5 | 3 |
5 | 6 | 4 | 2 |
6 | 5 | 3 | 1 |
7 | 4 | 2 | |
8 | 3 | 1 | |
9 | 2 | | |
10 | 1 | | |

Doping
Points are finalised once the race organisations publishes their results. No adjustments will be made if it later emerges that a rider has failed a drugs test or if a rider has wins retrospectively removed from his palmares.

Prediction Cut-off
Always the contentious one! The cut off is 12pm (noon) on the day of the race. This is strict so predictions at 12.01 won't be counted (exceptions made for split-stages, evening prologues etc). No GC selections will be accepted once a stage-race has begun.

I’ll be away for San Sebastián and the BinckBank Tour so can’t score them. Happy to do any of the others.

Personally, I agree with getting rid of the Surrey/London Classic but am obviously hugely biased towards keeping the Tour de Yorkshire.

Happy to help. Can't really do anything before the end of March because of one thing and another, plus I will be away last week August/first week Sept so can't do Vuelta (not promptly or properly anyway).

Happy to help again. I'm away through April and May though, so I'm no use then. I'd be willing to score the Vuelta this time round.

Maybe drop RideLondon and also ToB as it clashes with the Vuelta?

Happy to help with the scoring, although I won't be unemployed in July this year so probably can't replicate my Tour efforts. I'm definitely unavailable for Tour de Suisse.

As for the British races, it's always a bit of a pain having two stage races going on simultaneously - I'd be inclined to keep Yorkshire and dump Romandie - but I expect I'll in the minority

Thanks all for volunteering! I've thrown together an initial schedule. Let me know if whether that works or not...

I’m happy with my 2019 programme. So no need to move my races unless a swap is required by any other scorers.

I now know how ANC Halfords felt at the 1987 Tour. Over 200 points down before we've got to one of the big nine races.

I'm like Chris Froome at the first rest day at the 2018 Giro. The so-called experts are saying I should go home and prepare for 2020 but I'm going to shock them with my career defining picks in the Grand Tours

A top ten in the classics is a decent breakthrough result, I'll look to build on that next year.

My Romandie GC pick is missing. Bobmcstuff hasn't gotten round to it. No biggie. Could maybe be fixed next update. Thanks for the work and sorry for the extra nuisance.

I've also not scored Suisse yet, left the country again the day it finished and haven't had time.

I'm just on the way back from SA, so maybe I'll do it this afternoon depending on how sleepy I am.

Just updated the Romandie sheet from Charles de Gaulle, I'm that bored

You're bumped to second for Romandie. Congratulations :D
