What words should be deleted from the English vocabulary forever more?

I’ll start:-

Bae
Holistic
LOL
Soz
Preggers
Like (at the end of every f*cking sentence!)

I’m sure with a bit more thought I’ll come up with quite a few more.

    Holistic, basically and sustainable are all perfectly good words, just over- and misused.

    * Literally (at beginning of every sentence. Ugh!)
    * Extreme/Xtreme
    * Cogent
    * Synergy (one of my most hated as over used by managers and directors to make them appear intelligent )
    * Holistic
    * Vegan
    * Sick
    * So (when VERY is the correct adverb to use)
    * F**k (now over used to point of losing its impact)

    Super, another that's used too often and out of context. I'd be super happy to see it banned.

    We've just acquired a whole lot of 'Merican colleagues. I don't know what kind of amphetamines they are on but 'super excited' seems to be their default setting.

    Yes, staycation is a good call. There are a few others along those lines as well such as 'fakeaway' when all you are doing is cooking a meal that you could buy from a takeaway.

    If you would like to broaden your complaint slightly, and insist that the original meaning of literal is the only proper one, go right ahead (although, before committing to this, you should be aware that this will restrict you to using literal when you mean “of, relating to, or expressed in letters”).

    chillax about it.
