I'm a retired engine rebuild machinist and I've also worked on my own bikes since I was about 10.
I recently bought a 1986? Bianchi Premio made in Japan (wanabe), it's black with red letters and a gold Bianchi badge.
I wish I could post a picture. I LOVE this bike!!
The wheels are 27" Mavic MA 40, hubs are NOS Shimano with hyperglide freehub, tires are Continental Ultra Sport, seat is Origin 8, handle bar is straight, off a TREK mountain bike, I built my own 7 speed cassette, 11 - 24 I call special high performance. Chainrings are 34t and 42t The rear derailer is Shimano STX, off my Specialized Sirrus.

I haven't even put any miles on her yet.

Well, now that I've given the bike a little trial ride. The Origin 8 seat is gone, too narrow, too hard.
My favorite black Masi seat is on her now. What a sweet, sweet bike!

I am very reluctant to do pics. My photog skill is LOUSY and my camera is cheap.
Besides all that, I'm still making changes to the bike. I never throw a bike together and leave it. I'm always looking for some way to make it work better.

Do you need some decals for this?

The worst decal is the Premio but the bike is far from showroom condition. I put car polish on the head badge and it shined up good but wax don't help the rest of the frame. It's still all black, no metal showing anywhere.

I just swapped the crank from a double to a triple and I ordered a Deore rear derailer. When I get it going again, I think it will be done, then I'll try pics.

Well my Premio bike is completed and functioning very well.
I have tried 5 times to get the pics into this post but no luck. The url is above for all to see.

In case anyone is interested, these old 27" wheels have the late hyper-glide freehub but it's only 7 speed.
I'm what some people call a gear head. I have spent several thousands of hours figuring gears for performance.
This 7 speed is my latest build. The numbers are 11-12-13-15-17-20-26. I LIKE!!!!!!!
