Morning all,

I’m looking to change my current mountain bike, possibly for a second hand 2016 Lux however I’m having problems with the sizing. I’ve completed their perfect positioning system questions and I come out as a medium. however I come out as a medium on Scott, Specialised, Giant sizing but the large bike fits better (even my LBS agrees).

I can’t test the bike, it’s too far away. So are there any Lux owners that can help? Either giving any advice on their sizing etc, or are in the Cambridgeshire area and wouldn’t mind me sitting on there’s.

It will be Sod’s law that the medium is right but I just need to double check.

Thanks

Mike

So measure up your current bike, I presume that fits you, then use those figures against the Lux.

Tried that but Im finding it very difficult to get hold of all the geometry on the 2016 Lux.

Also what are the important measures to compare?

Sorry if these are daft questions.

Centre of bars to centre of seat post, will give you where your hands are in relation to your backside.
This is roughly ETT plus stem give or take a few mill.

The 2016 Lux ETT in medium is 585.

  • Thanks Robert, where are you getting the numbers from, I could do with the ETT for large.

  • Thank you sir.

ETT On my bike is 607, Lux is 606. So length is pretty much spot on.

Anything I need to consider on height/ST, which I can’t seem to find on the net, My bike is a 26inch wheel opthe lux is 29.

ST only matters if it's too long for a decent dropper, but as this is not a bike for gnarly runs then it should be OK.
