Can anyone recommend a cheap way to transport three people with bikes (not in boxes) between Tirano and Bormio?
We’re spending a week up there in July, very keen to do the Bormio - Stelvio - Umbrail - Prato - Stelvio (other side) - Bormio Route. We can do without the extra 50 miles required to start from Tirano.
It looks like bus up the valley doesn’t take bikes and taxis will be ££££. Have I missed anything?
Many thanks for any help anyone can offer.

    Are you staying in Bormio?
  • Hi Cougie,
Many thanks for your reply. Whether the Postbus is what we need or not, you've certainly given me another option to explore. We're staying in Tirano. Bormio looks amazing but Tirano opens up a bit more riding variety. We're looking forward to riding down the valley towards Lake Como as well as up to some of the high mountain passes. Also, we found accommodation which suits our group in Tirano.

Ah. We stayed on Bormio. We hired abvsn From Milan but it seemed a bit of a waste. We had thought to get the train to Tirano and our hotel would collect us from there.

Several nice bike hotels in Bormio.
