Yeah chilly here too, just about got the feeling back in my feet after riding in.
It's a lovely morning though, except in Chateau MF by the sound of things.

Was cold on the mixed commute, especially at the speeds I go at :)

Later is chilled as last nights fun rides route went into the pub

    Sunny if a little frosty.
Probably not as frosty as TDV.
Maybe TDV could be cured with a warm bucket of water too.
Today chasing paper plus some Porker fettling.
Then hook up with (very dodgy) ex minion.

    Laters.

Morning, threw some fire at the wood burner last night very welcome warmth from that. This morning wobbled down the road the the doctors who diagnosed me with Bronchitis (yay) so casually rode to work. Been advised to drink plenty of fluids. Alcohol is not only a fluid but kills germs so I'll run that past the other half later, doubt it'll hold water.

Delivery of a toolbox turned up which I was at work yesterday, nice little top box extension for the workshop, an they've managed to smash in the corner to the point it wont open, plus its the wrong colour, packet says red, I'm guessing it was picked out by a dog as its grey. Faff to return that later!

    When you say 'hook up'....

Must be a lot of Southerners her judging by the temperature related moaning; it's BBQ weather on Teesside. Good ride in that woke me up thankfully and we've already found a new minion to replace the one who's just resigned. Helped to have interviewed her last month for a different job...

Now stuffing my face with some 'festive special' baguette from Prets

Unfortunately the interview process didn't involve photography.

Day off but at work fettling the Mini in the nice warm workshop with a ramp. Had to scrape the ice off both sides of the windows before driving it in.
Sounds like a fail in the interview process, you could remedy this as part of the induction.

Nork recognition systems are definitely the way forward for building entry. In the interests of equality, I don't mind getting mine out.
Been in a meeting lasting 90+ minutes and nothing was achieved except we all whinged at the consultant who is going to eventually make our lives better.
After that I had better find the office revolver and bottle of Scotch.
Oh look, nearly time to go home...

Witnessed a cyclist walk away from a right hook which ended up with him more or less going through the car driver's windscreen. Chap was a junior doctor on his way to work, and he seemed happy that he was still alive, save for some cuts to his shoulder, so hung around for a bit, checked his bike over (minor pringling of front wheel), gave him my name and number and carried on my way. My camera totally failed to record anything this morning, and I had told the guy that hopefully I would have the incident on camera.

    Otherwise a dull day.

So the junior doctor cyclist bloke got hit by a raging motorist?
I hope that goes to court.

Ex minion is doing well. He's on half the drugs he was on before.
Actually no, that's a lie. He's on twice the amount but it's half the strength.

Yep, just sent HR an exocet about their unhelpful incompetence on other things. Got it all authorised by the board to a quick hiring and to just got on with it without going through all the tedious HR processes. Minion hired inside of 24 hours - result. So HR can FRO.

Plus, it's nearly the weekend and I'm going to the Macc Lads reunion gig tomorrow :)

Seems to be something they teach at HR school.

We're desperate for staff, but when people apply it just goes into some HR black hole and nobody ever gets back to the applicants and we don't know that anybody applied.

Even kids who want to come on work experience now have to apply through HR who are based in an office on another planet.

Well I did my HR thing this morning riding into work. A bunch of ecohippies were blocking the road at Elephant & Castle so I gave them some constructive advice on obtaining gainful employment.

Maybe Stevo rides to work like Brian Blessed out of Flash Gordon with wing’ed horns and bells etc, shouting his presence and telling the vermin to make way.
