Looks interesting to me...a production 650b gravel bike with front suspension. There, I've said it :wink:

Was closely tempted by the Cannondale Slate, but I think this looks a better bet. Lot of dosh for Sram Apex 1x though.

Not sure I should have posted this in "Road General" either!

    I agree that this looks better than the Slate.

    That's not hard as the Slate is the ugliest production bike available at the moment. Uuugh. :shock:

    I like the slate a lot, but this looks decent too.

    Actually when I looked at the Saracen site the cheaper non-suspended versions look good too, think they start at £1100 with carbon forks and 650b WTB Byway tyres.

    There are definitely some cheaper gravel bikes appearing now. Whoop

    That bike looks like it would be great for rides around Dartmoor down 'ere!

    The suspension version could be the perfect Dirty Reiver bike. That model is pretty pricy though. Shame it's not full hydraulics on the SL one.

    Gravel bikes are basically cx bikes but more trendy and hipster.

    Do a google search for "mountain bike with drop bars", then go into the shed and dig out your old hardtail, fit your old bars and save yourself some money. This is not new. Cross bikes are not new. A few femtometre geometry tweaks for marketing purposes do not a new class of bike make.

    In fact I may do this to my old Ridgeback Storm that is in the loft and cut around on it this winter looking far more handsome, dapper and cooler than all of you lot.
