Is this acceptable? I got. The lock ring withnthe cassette. I presume it's a 11t lock ring. Tiagra had a wider ring. Can I leave it like this or put on the old locknut?

Unless you particularly want your lock ring to say 'ultegra' on it, then fit the old one, if you have it.0

It looks to me that you have fitted an 11 tooth lockring to a 12 tooth sprocket?FFS! Harden up and grow a pair

The lock ring looks too small. Supposedly, a 11T cog requires a smaller lock ring so the chain doesn't rub on it, but I got this with a 12T cog cassette (12-25), and I'm afraid that the lock ring will get loose since there is no teeth holding it down...Craigus89 wrote:Not sure what you are actually asking to be honest?

Ah right, sorry didn't spot that in the photo. If you have a 12 tooth cassette then you will need a 12 tooth lock ring, not an 11 tooth lock ring. Surely the cassette feels loose?0

As you yourself suggest, a 12T lockring would engage those little serrations on the face of the 12T sprocket and give it that nice notchy feel as you tighten it.
I've never had an 11T sprocket or lockring so I don't know if what you have there is safe / effective. I imagine a lockring coming off when you're stomping on the pedals could end badly...0 -
From this angle that lock ring really isn't biting into much so I'd say it wasn't right really.......
