I have been looking to get back into mountain biking and heard a lot of good things about the Norco series. Can anyone confirm if the Norco Storm 1 would be a good starter point bike. Specs look ok to me for this price range. Link below.

The Calibre and Voodoo (and maybe the Carrera - doesn't say if the forks are air or not) cr4p all over the Norco and Trek.

Decent air forks, for a start, plus all components are a notch or two up.

That Marlin is not very good value for money.

The VooDoo HooDoo from Halfords / Cycle Republic is far better equipped (Deore 1x10 gears, Shimano brakes and decent air forks) and is currently on offer for £440 (with an extra 10% off if you are a member of British Cycling).
It is better value than any of the other bikes you have linked to.

  • Many thanks for all your replys. I will be popping into Halfords soon to try them out.

I also popped into my local bike shop tonight on way back from work and the guy did agree with what you guys are saying but also suggested this biks. (Not from go outdoors obviously)

Let me know what you guys think of the spec??
