Last day before a return to a busy office - bloody August is meant to be quiet. Ho hum. At least its a short one as I'm off up North on Thursday afternoon.

In other news looks like my home town is getting its 15 minutes of fame on Beeb 2:

Oh it's you?! Do you want those tyres or what?

    Meh. Raining. Drizzly. Foggy. Damp.

Usual Sunday swimming with toots. I hate Sunday's. Plus side, they are back at school on Tuesday. Means I can actually get things done.

    Laters.

actually felt a bit cold at the cafe stop, chill wind, and it still seems to be the land of a thousand temporary traffic lights out there, not to fix the crumbling roads though

    Afternoon folks,
Managed my traditional slow start today. Younger sister back from holiday and various other people going to see the old man today so I’m staying out of the way. This means I can get a few jobs done. Bike kit washed, now to replace a broken coat hook. Rock’n’roll lifestyle here.

Sandblasted on the beach in Cadiz. Great lunch of odds and sods of iberico ham, aged cheese and stewed pork cheek in a packed back street bar though. A big shame that I was driving, but still really enjoyed it. Now back in the 38 degrees of Seville, having walked back from dropping the car off, and having a very cold beer in the apartment. Out in a couple of hours for dinner.

Hot or cold beef? Horseradish, english mustard or neither? A beef sandwich is a lovely thing.

Just beef and onion in a buttered proper soft and fresh North Eastern Bap for me.

What are these Bacalao croquettes you speak of?

Horseradish, salt and butter for me. Fresh white bread.

Bacalao is dried salt cod. Rehydrate it in milk, flake into some stiff bechamel, season well, breadcrumb, deep fry. You have a bacalao croqueta. I had some good mushroom and cheese ones on Friday night, and some ham and cheese ones tonight.

I have not found any cava, but had a nice big glass of red vermouth on ice with a slice of orange. Then a glass of Bierzo. Now looking for an open ice cream shop of little sods.
