Can you recommend some good VFM socks ....

Can anyone recommend any good quality spring / summer socks, not too long but not tennis socks, but 3/4" cuff works for me adhering to the rules where to sock ends at my calf muscle :mrgreen:

Trawling the web but anything spring to mind for great VFM in terms of looks and spec.

    Yeah, Madison and Prendas. Prendas often do 3 for 2.

    The Madison on that link above are epic. I have loads of those and, given those prices, more incoming.

    Just received my first pair of Pongo's, and they're nice (Pro Race 2.0)

    Agree, the Madison's look great too, but absolutely nowhere had the colour combination I wanted (grey/ black with fluorescent yellow detail)

    Was going to write the On One Thinnies, but they aren't showing on the PX website sock section. The Thickies are though, https://www.planetx.co.uk/i/q/CLPXMERS1 ... rino-socks , which to be honest I find comfy to wear on all but the most extreme "heatwave" days.

    I'm a thicky fan too. I wore them today and saw someone wearing them on the commute this morning in the same champ design, but I was too embarrassed to say anything. It would be weird wouldn't it.

    Depends what you class as value for money?

    I got a pair of Pongo's in the sale for under £7 and they are the best socks I've worn. Good length and very comfortable and they have lasted well. I also paid full price for them too which some would class as expensive at £15. But I have bought other brands in the past and been disappointed. Rapha socks (especially merino) were terrible, Castelli don't last very long and feel thin, Planet X were cheap and not very cheerful.

    Planet X sorbtek ones are really comfy and very cheap

    Cheers all. Had Assos for years and my last batch of three times pairs of assos summer are due to be replaced but they have lasted a treat and look like new to a point. I love Endura socks too but so does my black labrador and has killed many a sock from the washing basket. :mrgreen: Will work through these and make a choice as liking a slightly longer sock nowadays. Thanks all.

    I haven't worn mine since winter.
    They are quite thick compared to my others and lately I've been wearing my thin summer ones.

    +1 for the PX Merino ones and their Holdsworth Sorbtek ones. Bargain.

    Had some px socks last yr, the flanders thicky merino ones are lasting really well but the normal/non merino flanders were rubbish lost there shape/elastic.

    They weren't sorbtek though.

    Bought a few pairs of unbranded 'Rapha' replica socks (plain but with the little stripes on the back to mimic Rapha) off AliExpress recently, quality is great and only cost £2 a pair.

    I bought 3 pairs of the Holdsworth sorbtek ones, after about half a dozen wears they have all developed big holes just below the ankle were the socks are stitched together. Cheap rubbish, a shame because I liked the orange and blue colourways.

    I've now bought the Prendas coolmax socks (3 for 2) - 6 pairs so far. They are in a different league altogether.

    They're one size, EU 39 to 46 - says down the bottom of the page.
