Cannondale 2011 or GT 2018

Hi, getting my 2nd bike since 1st one I killed in 1 month (200$ Nakamura).
2 options so far: GT Avalanche Comp 2018 from store for 600-700$ or used Cannondale Trail SL 29er -2 2011 from co worker for around 300-400$

P.s. i do 70% road 30% offroad on daily basis. I need something that can take the beating as my cheapest nakamura lasted month and lost 6 spokes after few small jumps in bike park. Thank you!

    I don’t think the Cannondale is high enough spec to consider it 2nd hand (and 7 years old) vs the GT. plus geometry has changed quite a lot in 7 years, so the Cannondale could be quite short / steep etc.

    That said, there GT doesn’t have an amazing spec either - but at least it’s all new stuff so should last you a lot longer.
