which lightweight XC shoes

My boyfriend wants lightweight XC shoes for his birthday, any recommendations? should be under 600g for pair. Brand can be less well known. found Specialized XC 6 but a bit expensive. thanks.

  Presumably clipped as that is what the Spesh XC 6 is!
