Morning, still feeling nauseous and dizzy as I have been since Saturday, not enough to take the day off sick though so I'm WFH and looking at pictures of the XR3 disc in the interwebz instead. Had a 'debate' with the GF last night, my thoughts are that she spent about half her salary on a car so I should be able to buy a very nice bike. She doesn't see it that way but luckily for me she is wrong. Might call the doctors in a bit but I'm hoping it will just go away.

    Morning.
Feeling a bit battered after deciding to spend the day pick and shovelling due to it being relatively cool yesterday. Can’t do any today as the skips full, thankfully. Might try to man and ride my bike later.

Labyrinthitis? Mrs H3 went through a spell of this. They can prescribe things for symptomatic relief, but you do just have to wait for it to go away.

Bit of moderate clock watching interspersed with a bit of clearing up of stuff.

Hadn't thought of that. I've been struggling to keep food down and have lost my appetite so I assumed it was food poisoning. I do seem to have some swollen glands below my ear and around my jaw but I hadn't put it together. It feels a lot like when I'm hungover, but the stomach symptoms have been quite convincing...

Feels like it's going to be quite unpleasant outside today, so I'm in the unusual position of being glad to be in an air-conditioned office. Must get out on the bike tonight; World cup fixtures, family commitments and DIY make it look like my last chance for a while... :(

Good news from our neighbour who says he is getting quotes to have his fcucking massive eucalyptus tree felled. Unless that was just a sweetener to deter us from asking if he's got planning permission for the sudden conversion of his garage into some kind of office / granny flat...

    Morning,

Office day today. Rode in on my MTB to test out attempt 4 at tubeless, seems to be OK so far.
Debating whether to do the TT tomorrow or not. Seem to be feeling less ill...but don't want to be proved wrong mid race.

TLW - it's the rescheduled 19 on Friday if you're interested as long as nobody decides to run a motorcyclist over this time. It's that rough course you enjoyed, plus an extra 9 miles of potholes in the middle :D

Went to the doctors, he said the usual stuff for stomach issues but was very surprised at my heart rate and asked if I jogged a lot. He wants an ECG this afternoon regardless so I'm back in for than and bloods later. Thinking about it, my HR was 32 when I was shivering on the sofa on Sunday so maybe he has a point, at the time I think 'Christ, I'm so fit'

    Afternoon folks,
Also feeling like shite, got a splitting headache and the sinusitis hasn't gone. I only had one beer last night so it's not even a hangover. Gave up and have booked to see the quack after much nagging from the Mrs. Not much they can do other than give me antibiotics which may or may not help and we'll never know if they work as after a week it probably would have cleared up anyway.
Trying to get everything cleared up as today is my Friday and no more work until the 25th. Woohoo!:D

I think they all had discs on the front. Wouldn't an XR3i be better though?

Hope it's nothing serious. If my HR was 32 I'd be changing the batteries in the monitor.

It's good that it's getting looked at straight away too, I've known a couple of people who have been to the docs and needed ECGs and told they can't ride or do any exercise in the meantime, and they had to wait 4 weeks to be told everything was fine.

Yeah that sucks. The doctor was hoping to get me back in a few days for bloods and ECG if I was still feeling ill but the only available appointment was early this afternoon. Waiting for a call with the results now, I'm guessing it's just a stomach bug and I need to wait but we shall see. The ECG flashed up saying abnormal things but apparently that's because I'm a cyclist and fitter than the average 26 year old, the nurse was very impressed

I think the lowest I've seen my hr on a normal lazy sunday is about 38 so it could be an infection or something

Sounds quite cool actually, maybe the GF will let me get a car as well...

Ah, those were the days. Long before all that emissions guff. I remember having a go in my mate's XR3i and scaring the crap out of him. We had a 1300 FWD Escort at work and that was like a go-kart too. My 3rd car was an Escort Ghia; proper plush velour upholstery, real wood inserts in the door trim and an automatic aerial. And an engine with space to get in and work on it. Remember replacing the clutch outside in November...Happy days!

205 GTI was my weapon of choice in the 'good old days. Pity they were made out of Kit Kat wrappers and stickyback plastic.

Busy day with various things, now sat on a sweaty train waiting to get home. May eat out tonight.
