Less cycling on Eurosport?

It might be my imagination but there seems to be a lot less cycling on than the previous few years. Normally I could switch on in the afternoon/evening and chill out for a few hours but it now seems only the larger races are being covered? Might be cancelling my Eurosport player.

Think it's your imagination - I think there has been more than before. Including weird French and Belgium cup races
Fckin' Quintana … that creep can roll, man.

What I would say is that some events they have previously covered have ended up without commentary on the Player BUT they have picked up other things elsewhere. The Napoleon Cup series of races is getting a much wider outing than years past (IMO).

However they have times when they're wall to wall with other sports, tennis mainly. They could do with an extra channel. The ES Player 'no comms' option is also often when they have a few other races on and no one to do the comms.

/\ there's definitely more races on the ES Player "no comms" option this year, its great for when you are fed up with Kirby!

Maybe it’s my schedule then that’s changed slightly. Since the Giro I’ve hardly caught anything on there.

Just as a comparison, here was everything the showed last season. It's just a quieter time of year when it comes to races that are televised IMO, what with the nothern Classics being done with, GT season just getting underday.

With highlights of yesterday's Spanish Nationals in between. Not sure if it was live or has earlier highlights.
I also now notice that the Belgian champs was raced yesterday, so I missed it on Sporza.

As to the OP question, I'd say here in the UK, there has been a move for more cycling on the player, but certainly less on tv.
This week is another complete switch off for non-tennis fans, with Eastborne and the flipping Wimbledon qualifying enjoying all day coverage.
Meanwhile, in Spain for instance, it's cycling on both channels, with classics and a complete Vuelta re-run.

it's partly the self-defeating nature of the Cycling calendar - the other week we had Slovenia, Switzerland and Route du Sud (Occitanie) all overlapping, and all on ES on some days.

I didn't know Het Hageland had moved forward from it's previous August date so missed that one on ES - disappointing as it's great watching them (appear to) race through people's back gardens etc..

Yes, the player has more on. Slovenia was live on the TV last week, with Suisse delayed on TV, but live on the ES player.

I'll try telling Mrs KG that there isn't enough cycling on TV and report back.

Ha, concur with that. Mrs YR refers to some of the midweek stuff as 'these aren't proper races, they're just making them up now'....
