So I bent the chainring on my FSA Omega crankset, and rather than spending more money on a budget crankset I'm looking to change to a Shimano crankset.

I'm reading various woes online of people struggling with adapters etc with the BB30 shell. However, on this it looks like there is a regular thread in FSA BB4000 bottom bracket as stock.

Maybe there is a pre installed adapter already? Therefore is there anything stopping me from slapping in a new Shimano BB and cranks?

You can get a wheelsmfring bottom bracket which brings it down to 24mm and you can then just fit a shimano crank. Simples and no creaking or messing about. There are others but ive used these and theyre great. They also do a 22/ 24mm option.

Alternately stick with your PF30BB and get the adapters which do the same job. If youre fitting themselves they are dead easy and come with very clear instructions.
