ITS NOT A PHUKKING CAVE. ITS A WOODEN SHED FROM B&Q. IT COULDN'T BE FURTHER VROM BEING A PHUKKING CAVE IF YOU TRIED. YOU COULD PAINT IT PINK AND KEEP UNICORNS IN IT AND IT STILL WOULDN'T BE A PHUKKING CAVE.

    MAN CAVE......

Ooh, a pink cave with unicorns in. That would be pretty unusual.
I rode in on the new/old bike I bought. 23mm tubs have confirmed that all my fillings are securely fastened. My knees hurt mow as the rather nice looking seat post is too short, that is dull. Close ratio 7 speed freewheel and downtube shifters mean it might as well be single speed.
More trying not to murderise anyone today. Had enough of customers, might move to purchasing so I can be the awkward customer for a change.

I have a shed. It leaks, is mouldy and there are cracks and fungus on the walls. In that respect it is quite cave-like. Hopefully it will be razed to the ground and the bits chucked over the back fence onto the bowling green.

    Coffee, lunch, bits and pieces.

    Morning
Very warm here this morning. Yesterday’s physio went well, now have to do press ups against the kitchen work top. It’s impressive how weak you can get in 10 weeks. Later will be a bike ride although my body feels like it’s already done one.

But not, in any definition of the word, a cave.

I have a room in my house which has my nice bikes on the walls, turbo, fans, an outside door, TV and hi-fi; then a solid wooden garage which has mostly tools, a hi-fi, cheaper bikes and a work stand, plus chainsaws; and multiple wooden sheds. None of which are caves, garages and sheds definitely have their benefits

In other news, I snapped a pannier eyelet off my touring bike on the last day of last week's tour so I'm currently trying to sort a warranty with the shop. Happy to get it welded back on by a neighbour but I don't want to ruin the warranty in case anything else happens. A very sad day as it's a beautiful bike. The Hebrides is well worth cycling by the way, excellent stuff.

I'm half hoping our big merger/acquisition announced last week work puts me out of a job so I have a lot of free time for bike packing, I've landed with a bit of a thud this week and can't wait to go away again

I think that qualifies as a man cave. Ironically MF's employers spent quite a bit of the previous decade trying to bomb the blokes with the biggest man caves.

Fun day in work, followed by a quick beer with our visitors from KOFFA.

    I wish I had a man cave/garage.

Dull and cloudy here today, was misty on the riding part of coming to work.
Took nearly 30 mins to get the car started this morning. Think it's a loose wire on the engine ECU based on what the diagnostics are saying, but can't find the thing to poke it. Might be going car/van shopping properly later in the week.

Good guess but much less important and much more tree-related. Did make the FT though so hooray for us...

Afternoon, veritable meh day today, managers being a turd but I had some good news re some rust on the car, random patch inside the door is covered under warranty, hurray!

    Extension > Garage > Shed

Still need to sort that out to be honest, had a quote a while back for an extension off the back of the garage with power.

Also, trying to be good and not purchase something stupid online, current toss up between a frame or etap, but I should really just bung it in the savings, adulting is hard work.

    Talking of which..

My mum just sent through a largeish cheque, being proceeds of the estate of a distantish relative of hers in Finland who died intestate. Frame, etap, wheels, complete bike, hifi, holiday in Caribbean - all these things whizzed through my head. However, I bunged it in the savings, ready to totally revamp my back room/kitchen/extension into a massive whizzy kitchen/family room with a new roof, my back garden into something that isn't a dog sh*t covered patch of dandelions & moss complete with a leaky, mouldy shed, and the family bathroom into something that doesn't look like a badly botched cr@pheap. Plus pay for us to move out for 2 or 3 months while the worst of the noise and mess goes ahead.

    Adulting really sucks, and blows.

Just spend it on whores and blow. MF says that is the best long term investment plan.

As an aside, MF’s garage is basically the same as Oxoman’s but given that MF doesn’t live in Luton or Afghan it’s deffo a garage and not a cave, man or otherwise,

Probably been nicked if its in Luton.

Debate is still ongoing, its basically funds from the payout on the car being eaten by a van. Neither are real needs, though Pinno would be pleased if I got a new frame, may not get a frame...
