Problem sending private messages

I’m having problems sending private messages. I sent one on Thursday which seems to have simply vanished, and have tried sending messages tonight, which all end up stuck in my outbox. Can anyone help with this?

    They stay in your outbox until the receiver has read them. Then move to sent.
