I have a 2008 GT Marathon Pro and want to swap the front fork for one designed for a 27.5” is this possible? I know it will change the set up and B.B. height but can it be done?

Yes very possible, will raise the front end by circa 12.5mm so hardly a disaster (geometry change will be minimal), stick to the same travel though to avoid overstressing the frame.
Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.

And unless it has a straight steerer you'll have hassles.

A change of headset isn't that big a hassle (?), but yes would add another 5-10mm to the front end height increase.
