Video editing software

As the title says, looking for some software for editing/creating videos, preferably free.

    Yeah, Go Pro comes with something called Quik, which is a bit too basic for what I had in mind.

    I use HitFilm. It's free and a really powerful tool. Loads of official tutorials online for the trickier stuff like motion tracking and green screen, if that's your bag.

    All depends on what you want to use it for.

    If you have an iPad then iMovie will turn out a decent result, if you can get your footage onto it. It’s a bit light touch, but in the end you get a video.

    Quik is dreadful, agreed. A shame GoPro discontinued Studio which was pretty good.

    iMovie is good if you have a Mac (free, obvs) or DaVinci Resolve for Mac/Windows is more powerful but harder to master.

    Thanks for all the answers. I'm not using a Mac, but I've found a copy of Go Pro Studio, which is their old software. I'll give that a go.
