Places to ride between Essex and Wigan???

Hi all, travelling from Essex to Wigan on Thursday, are there any decent places to stop off and ride on the way, or around Wigan?

    Looking at the map Cannock Chase seems like the obvious choice?

    I would definitely say Cannock looks like the obvious choice.

    If you are going on m40 to Birmingham, then there are the Chilterns, search princess Risborough area.

    It’ll be a flying visit so signposted and easy to navigate trails with a cafe would be ideal

    Aston Hill bike park in Wendover woods would be an option
