Help Choosing Between Two Hardtails.

Hey guys,

Thinking of getting a new Hardtail, can’t seem to choose between these three.

Now to me it seems that if all of these bikes were priced the same at around £650, the boardman would still be the best value for money. However I’m not too knowledgeable with he quality of different parts etc so if someone could recommend which bike would be the best based on specs etc that would be massively appreciated. Even better would be to recommend a bike which isn’t on that list, I have a £600-£650 budget.

I am 180cm tall and 110kg if that helps, I primarily ride relatively smooth trails.

I'd be tempted by the Giant on overall spec, but depends on the size you want. Boardman only in medium (18"), Giant in large.

So that might narrow it down.

Ooooh, I too am in the market for a hardtail within that price range and hadn't seen that Giant. That's very tempting, I wonder if they have two in large available. ;-) IIRC they have a great warranty scheme?

I really like the Grand Canyon and had wondered if the extra cost for the 3.0 or the 4.0 was worth it over the Voodoo Bizango and now that Giant.

Also considering the Diamondback Lumis 2.0 that Merlin have for £700.

Canyon's got a 6 year warranty which might be worth thinking about if you're planning on eventually moving away from the smooth trails that you've mentioned.

@180cm you'd need large Frame.

I'd check the frame rider weight limits for the frames as well as some are 110kg.
