Just finished my latest project, all ready for summer (I’m now like a kid waiting for Christmas as it is freezing with snow all around today and I won’t be riding it in those conditions with roads covered in salt!)

He may be, but I’m not and I didn’t build it for him...

Budget was blown on those nasty looking carbon wheels

  • It’s a nice bike, we all agree. But if you put a pic online on an open forum expect a bit of ribbing. Take a look at my last pic of my winter bike in scenic pics. Bianchi with Ultegra and Campagnolo wheels. Who gives a sh!t ?

Must confess I'm not a big fan of aero looking frames, but that looks pretty good to me. I do like the picture with the ducks standing on the ice in the background.

Love the frame, but I just can't see past those wheels. Something around 38-40mm would be plenty, and far less offensive..

I have a pair of those already, no point buying another pair of the same.

It doesn’t you know, ‘they’re all like that Sir’ - my C60’s top cap is the same.

    Lovely bike PP

I never noticed but if you have OCD it should align the gap directly with the N or between the L & N if you include the Colnago symbol.

I’m more surprised he didn’t mention the tyres are upside down to the valve and the front is slightly out.

Yea, the design on the cap is not symmetrical - it’s more like the design of an Irish shamrock skewed slightly to one side, but yes, I think the N should be in the gap to be perfectly aligned...and yes, my C60 is also exactly the same.

They’re on my C60 which will be my windy/ hilly summer bike. This one is for flat nice days when I fancy a real burn up, but I could swap them as and when the mood grabs me...

Lovely build but not keen on the discs, sorry just my preference,

Does nothing aesthetically and logically no point on the type of riding that bike is being used for.

I haven't given one, and if I did I wouldn't assume just because it has aero pretensions it can only be ridden like a TT bike.

I never quite understand the choice of wheels when they are as deep as these in that they don't look "pro" as you don't see bikes raced with wheels like this really. They always instantly look like the rider has thought "going deeper will look best" but they don't realise that it doesn't, it just stinks of that decision.

It's a really nice frame though, and with some 50mm boras and rim brakes they are easily one of the classiest looking aero frames, particularly in the plain colours like this.
  • sheesh.. Tough crowd eh.

Each to their own. I prefer disc brakes whatever riding I’m doing and I actually prefer them aesthetically.

Ah, I was wrong then? You must have let a 14 year old choose them for you or something then, an easy mistake to make ;)

Anyway, bin them and get some wheels that actually suit it, because they don't and it's a really nice frame!
